<p>Head distinct from slender body, eye large. Scales along middle of back distinctly enlarged. Bronze brown above, the neck region bright orange-red. A black streak on the side of the head and fore part of the neck. Underside yellowish green on the front half, and dull green to brown on the rear. <a href="https://www.nparks.gov.sg/florafaunaweb/fauna/8/6/860" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NParks</a></p>

<p>Macracantha arcuata also known as the curved spiny spider.</p>



<p>Macracantha is a genus of Asian orb-weaver spiders recognized as containing the species, Macracantha arcuata, although some schemes also recognise inclusion of Gasteracantha hasselti in this genus.&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macracantha">Wikipedia</a></p>



<p>Previously known as Gasteracantha arcuata, it was moved to the genus Macracantha by Patrick (2007). With its distinctively long and curved spines.</p>



<p>Location: Upper Seletar Reservoir &#8211; August 2022</p>
