<p><strong>Dynastinae</strong> or <strong>rhinoceros beetles</strong> are a subfamily of the scarab<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarabaeidae"> </a>beetle family (Scarabaeidae). Other common names – some for particular groups of rhinoceros beetles – include <strong>Hercules beetles</strong>, <strong>unicorn beetles</strong> or <strong>horn beetles</strong>. Over 1500 species and 225 <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genera">genera</a> of rhinoceros beetles are known</p>



<p>Rhinoceros beetles are <strong>herbivorous insects named for the horn-like projections on and around the males&#8217; heads</strong>. Most are black, gray, or greenish in color, and some are covered in soft hairs. <p><em>Lilioceris</em> is a genus of beetles in the leaf beetle family, Chrysomelidae. The genus was first scientifically described in 1912 by Edmund Reitter. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilioceris" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wikipedia</a></p>



<p>it&#8217;s likely to be Lilioceris impressa, yes. Though not certain, because this belongs to a species-groups of very similar species that are basically impossible to identify from a photo, and overlap in their ranges. Aside from L. impressa, there is also L. egena reported from S&#8217;pore. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/30749256655/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michael Geiser</a></p>
