<p>Trichonephila is a genus of orb-weaver spiders that was first described by Friedrich Dahl in 1911, as a subgenus of Nephila. Trichonephila was elevated to the level of genus by Kuntner et al in 2019.&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichonephila">Wikipedia</a></p>



<p>Scientific name: <em>Trichonephila antipodiana</em></p>



<p>The female has completely black palps and legs, without any red or yellow joints. On the underside (not shown in photo), there is a strong conical tubercle near the mouth. The sternum is decorated with seven yellow spots on the edge.
